Barcelona cast net wide for new defensive signing

Barcelona are casting their net wide to find a new defensive signing.

El Mundo Deportivo says coach Pep Guardiola wants to strengthen his defence before the start of the new season.

Jose Enrique (Newcastle United) and Mamadou Sakho (Paris Saint-Germain) are both under consideration.

They are joined by Jan Vertonghen (Ajax), Victor Ruiz (Napoli) and Yaroslav Rakitskiy (Shakhtar Donetsk), who is a player rated highly by Guardiola.
