Barcelona sports chief Andoni Zubizarreta remains "optimistic" over Eric Abidal's contract talks.
Only this week, the Frenchman's agent has cast doubt on the defender re-signing.
But Zubi says: "We like that the negotiations were conducted in the appropriate place.
"We are working hard to bring the positions to reach a meeting point, and I remain optimistic."
