The former Barcelona B boss is under huge pressure after Roma were bundled out of the Europa League last week.
"I believe Luis Enrique to be a great Coach, as he has the character to do this job very well,” said Barcelona boss Guardiola.
“I hope they can give him time and let him show what he can do. The problem in football is always the same, as there isn’t the slightest sign of patience.
“The way I see it, without patience you cannot have real football.”
