There were no advances in Barcelona’s pursuit of Arsenalcaptain Cesc Fabregas today according to sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.
The 24-year old midfielder has been a transfer target of the Catalan giants for months now but the Gunners continue to reject bids as they are determined to keep him.
Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has made it clear they will not pay over the odds for Fabregas but in the past few days it seemed as though the move was set to go ahead.
Today, Zubizarreta said that nothing further had happened and asked for patience as the European champions continue to work on a potential deal.
"Things have not changed," he told Spanish press on Wednesday. "Much calm is needed in this operation in order to attend to events."
