Cruzeiro director of football Valdir Barbosa has confirmed that a loan move for Barcelona striker Keirrison is imminent.

"It is 95 per cent settled, and it will hardly go wrong. Keirrison needs to handle some small details with Santos," Barbosa told Globoesporte. "Tomorrow [Tuesday] or the day after he will be in Belo Horizonte."

The 22-year-old striker joined Barcelona from Palmeiras in the summer of 2009 in a 14 million euro switch but has since failed to prove his scoring credentials.

Keirrison has been loaned out to Benfica, Fiorentina and Santos over the last two seasons, but in each occasion he could not do enough to earn a permanent move.

Cruzeiro is hoping that Keirrison will help improve the club's fortunes and a loan move until the end of the year is now close at hand.
