Match report Comeback to reach the final (1-2)

Roger Bogunyà
The final of the 22nd Catalan Cup will take place between Barça and Espanyol. Eusebio’s team came back from a goal down against Girona with goals from Lobato and Riverola to get through to Tuesday’s final.
Barça’s win will mean that they are through to the final of the 22nd Catalan Cup against Espanyol, who beat hosts Nastic 2-1.

The first half ended with the teams quite fairly even at 1-1, but Barça took control after the break and Riverola’s goal gave them a well deserved win and a place in the final.

Girona made the early openings with Miño making a couple of good saves to keep out the second division team’s efforts, but there was nothing he could do on 32 minutes when Gaizca rounded off a good Girona move for the opening goal.

Barça hit back with an individual effort from Lobato who beat two men before firing home the equaliser just before the break.

Eusebio made three changes at half time, bringing on Armando, Rafinha and Deulofeu and the substitutions soon bore fruit as Riverola put away a cross from the right by Rafinha to give Barça the lead which they proved more than capable of holding on to to move into the final.
