Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao is looking forward to taking on La Liga championsBarcelona, as the South American tries to continue his excellent start in Spain.

The Colombia international has found the net five times since moving to the Vicente Calderon from Porto in the summer, and is relishing the chance to compete against Pep Guardiola's team on Saturday.

"It's special for any player to play these games," the striker told Mundo Deportivo.

Despite the Champions League holders going into the match as favourites, the 25-year-old is targeting victory.

"Let's go for the victory. We have respect for Barcelona, but we do not fear [them]. Before the three consecutive victories, the feeling was just as good, [this] has now been corroborated with victories and goals.

"The team is very good, [we have] a very good squad and we're very confident going [to] the Camp Nou," he continued.

The former River Plate attacker is the joint top-scorer in the Spanish top flight so far this season, and is enjoying playing for his new club.

"I have the same conviction of always wanting to do my best, to give the team my full effort. This has always been one of the reasons [to play the game]," he stated.

Despite the away team entering the game as underdogs, Gregorio Manzano's men plan to go head-to-head with the Catalan giants.

"They are characterised by possessing the ball, but we have a game plan and style, we will try to contest the possession, to be protagonists and go for three points," he concluded.
