TEAM NEWS: David Villa returns for Barcelona as Thiago starts in midfield against Atletico Madrid

Pep Guardiola brings David Villa into his starting XI while Thiago starts in midfield with Sergio Busquets dropping into the centre of defence in place of Carles Puyol

Barcelona have recalled David Villa to their starting line-up to face Atletico Madrid in La Liga on Saturday evening.

The former Valencia man replaces Seydou Keita, with Cesc Fabregas dropping back into a three-man midfield alongside Xavi and Thiago.

Gerard Pique is not risked after overcoming injury and starts the game on the bench with Carles Puyol also named as a substitute.

Pep Guardiola has instead chosen to field Sergio Busquets and Javier Manscherano as centre-backs.

Atletico Madrid have been boosted by the return of Diego who forms a three-man attack alonsgside Jose Antonio Reyes and the in-form Falcao.
