Performance against Osasuna wasn't that different to AC Milan display - Barcelona's Javier Mascherano

Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano has stressed that the Catalans' performance against Osasuna on Saturday was actually very similar to their display against AC Milan in midweek.

The Spanish giants were held to a 2-2 draw by the Italians in Tuesday's Champions League game, but hammered Osasuna at Camp Nou at the weekend as they cruised to an 8-0 win in La Liga.

However, despite the different outcome of the two games, Mascherano feels that Barcelona did not do anything different on Saturday.

"In general terms we put in a good performance, but it wasn’t that different to Tuesday’s – just that we were sharper up front. We had plenty of chances against Milan, but couldn’t put them away.

"We showed that this team is alive and we still have plenty to come. We are hungry to achieve things."

Barcelona return to match action on Wednesday when they take on Valencia in their fourth La Liga match of the season.
