Barcelona utility man Adriano has underlined the importance of Sunday's La Liga match away against Sporting Gijon as he feels the game arrives at a crucial moment, just before the forthcoming international break.

The Catalans have collected 11 points from five league games so far, and Adriano is determined to add three more to their tally before the majority of the club's players leave for their respective national sides.

"It is a key game, because it comes just before the international break. It won't be an easy game. We suffered there last year and struggled to win two years ago," Adriano told the club's official website.

"Winning the away game against BATE [Borisov, in the Champions League on Wednesday] 5-0 gives us more confidence. We have had some tough away games and had only drawn until then.

"We created a lot of chances against Real Sociedad but didn’t get goals like we did on Wednesday."

The match between Sporting and Barcelona at El Molinon kicks off at 20:00 (CET).
