It's not right to compare Barcelona's Lionel Messi & Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo - Luis Figo

The former Portuguese international cannot pick who is better out of the two superstars as he offers his view on the duo who ply their trade in the Spanish top flight

Luis Figo believes comparisons between Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo, and Barcelona'sLionel Messi are worthless.

The debate as to who is the greatest player in the world continues to rage, but the former Inter midfielder, feels comparisons are flawed for various reasons.

"It is not right to compare them [Ronaldo and Messi]. I like watching both of them when they play, why ask which one is the best?," he is quoted as saying on FCInternews.it.

"It's like when you eat something, why choose one meal, when you can try both?

"Both [Cristiano] Ronaldo and Messi are different players, they have different personalities."

Figo played for both Madrid and Barcelona during his time as a player, and he admits he likes watching his former sides.

"Sometimes I watch football on television, and if Inter are not playing then I will watch Barcelona or Real Madrid," he concluded.

Madrid take on Espanyol, while Barcelona are away to Sporting Gijon in La Liga this weekend.
