Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas: Lionel Messi is a born winner

The Spain international believes his club colleague will hit the ground running in Saturday's Liga clash at home to Mallorca as he rejects goal drought concerns

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has backed Lionel Messi to score again soon, insisting the best players in the world always bounce back.

Messi has 10 Liga goals this season but failed to score in the 1-0 win over Granada on Tuesday night as Xavi netted the winner.

However, despite Messi's lack of goals in recent games - the Argentine missed a penalty in the 0-0 draw with Sevilla on Sunday - Fabregas feels his colleague will rediscover his scoring touch.

"Messi is the best and a born winner," Fabregas is quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.

"Messi always wants to score goals, but that did not happen on Wednesday.

"However, the great thing about football is that the best players take no time in getting back on their feet. On Saturday he will have another chance to prove that he is the best."

Barcelona meet Mallorca at Camp Nou on Saturday evening.
