Barcelona's Lionel Messi left frustrated by poor goalscoring record for Argentina

The prolific forward admits he is getting concerned after drawing another blank for his country and has hinted that he is unsettled when playing for his homeland

Lionel Messi has underlined his frustration with his recent lack of goalscoring when playing forArgentina and has admitted that he is "not tranquil" when representing his country.

The striker has not hit the net for Alejandro Sabella's men since June when he scored in a 4-0 friendly win over Albania.

Messi has since gone four games without a goal for Argentina, including in the recent 1-0 friendly win over Venezuela.

Yet, despite receiving praise from his coach, Messi is concerned.

"I score in every way at Barcelona, even without wanting to," Messi is quoted as saying in La Repubblica.

"With Argentina I try to score goals but I am unable to find the net. Maybe it is because I am not tranquil."

Messi has scored six goals in Barcelona's last four games.
